In answer to: how do you start the pre-qualifying process?

Call a mortgage company or a bank you do business with and speak with someone in the mortgage /loan department .you will need to give them at least 2 month of income stubs for verification then they will want to pull a credit report on you and spouse if purchasing Joint tendency. They will then start the pre qualifying process. during this time MAKE NO MAJOR PURCHASES OR CLOSE ANY CREDIT ACCOUNTS this will adversely affect you r credit score greatly.

In answer to: How much is the HOA?

All Home Owners Associations are different and depending what they offer is usually the difference in price. Some offer amenities like pool, club houses, even golf course memberships, while other offer only exterior maintenance like snow removal, landscaping. Some include water and garbage pickup, be sure to ask questions if purchasing in HOA developments because all are very different. Best of luck!
