After several fruitless attempt to find what we were looking for in our price range, we had the good fortune of being introduced to Mr. Allen through a local friend who was aware of our struggle. Upon first meeting Mr. Allen we were unaware of his standing in this community, but it was no surprise to see him in the paper organizing fund raisers for the Humane Society. Shopping for property with Mr. Allen was very different than the typical city grind. After hunting properties in the nooks and crannies in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina we felt more like we were with a property connoisseur, in all price ranges. His knowledge of the area was key for us; taking into account many things in which we were unaware that is intrinsic to mountain properties, from water sources to which direction the home should face in relation to it's location on a steep ridge helped immensely with our decision making.
