Kent Davis

My wife Susan and I began doing business with Kent Davis in 2001 by relying on his resort for guest accomodations on Anna Maria Island. His local expertise and friendly personality were always a hit with our visiting friends.

As a past president of the Anna Maria Island Rotary Club I soon became aware of the respect Kent earned in the local business community. He is honest, hard-wroking and compassionate. Since 2008 he has actively worked with our Rotary volunteering his support for our educational programs in the local elementary school.

As an avid participant in local and international Rotary activities I meet a lot of people: I consider Kent Davis to be among the best I know. He is a talented teacher, host, writer and publisher. My wife and I are both proud to count Kent and his wife Pa as freinds and fellow islanders.

I met Kent Davis in 2004 when he asked me to help him find a buyer for the 17-unit resort that he and his wife had developed at the north end of the island.


Over four years, they took a run-down property and turned it into a successful boutique resort. In the process, Davis became so familiar with the local tourism industry that he was elected to the Manatee County Tourist Development Council, where he served from 2003-2009.


After I brokered the sale of their resort, the Davis' selected several unique properties on the island for personal investment, and proceeded to build several homes exhibiting quality construction and craftsmanship that is rare in today's market.


Kent is respected in our local community, where he has taken an active role in education. For two years, he has worked with our local Rotary (where I am a member and former president), establishing a Life Skills Enrichment Program at the local elementary school based on a Presidential Award-winning program that he authored.


On a global level, Kent is an expert on Southeast Asian history and his work as a publisher and researcher has received considerable recognition. Two of his books became the United States Ambassador's official gifts to King Sihamoni of Cambodia upon her appointment in 2009.
