When shopping for a specific apartment, it is a great asset to hire yourself a Realtor to do your legwork. We have MLS at our disposal, plus can tour places to ensure they fit your criteria. It makes the best use of your time. In addition, your agent can prepare a package of information for submission to the landlord. We know what to highlight, and how best to convey this information to the other side. Your agent should have you secure the apartment over any other applicants because of being prepared!

In answer to: I am interested in the house in Wellesley for $1200. My current lease ends in August. When is the move in date?
This room rental is flexible on move in dates if you are referring to the listing at Eaton Court. It is not a private apartment though.

In answer to: how do I arrange to view a property?
If you are looking around the Metrowest Boston region, I would recommend finding a rental agent to help you in that search. Unfortunately, the rental market does not make it easy on tenants. Even though most of the available units are available in Multiple Listing Service (which almost every agent uses), most of the rentals don't offer to pay the commission for an agent. This means that your rental agent could charge you a fee. If you go to every individual listing, than you likely would have no fee or a minimal fee. I would still recommend an agent to help. They should be a one stop source of information, access to every listing, and packaging of your paperwork in a clear and complete package. This may be the difference between getting a unit over someone else, or getting a place cheaper than it is listed for. You also get professional advice on rental terms in your lease. If you are buying, I would recommend hiring a Buyer Agent, which is paid for by the Seller 99% of the time. Can't beat that!
