10 Landscaping Tips for Your Home

Your yard is an extension of your home, so don’t forget to add some personality to it! You don’t have to have a green thumb to make an impact, just follow these tips we’ve provided:

  1. Add stones to create a pathway.
  2. Begin a vegetable garden to save money on groceries plus it’s great for your healthy eating plan.
  3. Add low maintenance plants such as hosta that won’t require that much attention, especially if you aren’t able to dedicate a lot of time to pruning plants.
  4. If you want to make the space appear larger then stick to one color scheme.
  5. Add plants that vary in heights to be visually interesting.
  6. Helpful environmental tips including the use of solar lights which also help save on energy bills
  7. Add shade trees around your house to conserve energy.
  8. Use bulbs to ensure you get maximum flowers each year.
  9. Try your hand at stringing shells you’ve collected to make a windchime.
  10. And use decorative and practical tiki torches with citronella as they are great to keep bugs away.

    For those who are having difficulty maintaining a nice and healthy looking landscape or garden – that it does not complement the rest of your abode – taking advice from the experts and reading helpful tips such as the ones given above can be very beneficial for you. Thanks for the tips! It may sound easy to others but getting your hands dirty and involving yourself in every aspect about your home can be challenging without the proper guidance.

    For those who have the time to tend to their plants or landscape, knowing a thing or two about them can be very handy as you do no have to depend on your landscaper or gardener to water or fertilize them for you all the time. You will be able to identify hot spots on your grass lawn or if they need more water. Your tips are very much appreciated.

    If you do not want insects and other pests crawling under your plants, be sure not to choose plants that can attract them. Some plants have ‘sweet’ elements that attract ants to feed on them.
