Another method may be to organize your debts and see which has the highest interest rate and pay the highest ones first. This minimizes the daily expense of debt and also the compounding effect.

Small amounts of money given consistently over time will add up to a sizable sum for down payment. You may also be disciplined enough to push money leftover at the end of the month into your savings account and start afresh.
