Now that summer is unofficially here, I’m all about the summertime recipes. Some of my favorite ways to entertain at home are to fire up the grill and offer some simple side dishes. This Tart Summer Succotash is a perfect addition to any patio meal!
Lima beans used to be item non-grata when I was a kid, but ever since I created this recipe I can’t get enough of them! My summer “succotash” recipe uses lots of lemon juice and red wine vinegar, hence the “tart” in the title. There are plenty of bean salad recipes out there that add honey to give it a sweetness, but I prefer the tart citrus flavor. This bean salad is healthy, filling and has tons of protein, plus it goes well [...]
Did you know that April 7th is National Beer Day? Well, instead of just popping the top and taking a sip, why not get a little creative in the kitchen by using beer in a variety of recipes? Beer is actually a wonderful addition to everything from dips and breads to soups and meat marinades. One of my favorite appetizers is beer cheese dip – have you tried it? It’s delicious! Equally as tasty is using beer to make a cocktail punch! This may be a new idea but trust me, you’ll enjoy making this recipe over and over because it’s that delish! Spring is the perfect time to try this Berry Beer Punch (especially on April 7th!) as warmer weather means one thing – outdoor entertaining! [...]

Limoncello is a lemon flavored liquor that has been imbibed as an after dinner drink in Italy for years. I’ve started using it in all my spring cocktails as the light, citrus flavor just screams spring to me!
With Easter being the unofficial kickoff to spring, I’ve got a limoncello cocktail that only requires only two ingredients and is the perfect accompaniment to your spring or Easter soiree. Bubbly limoncello (or for Easter, bubbly bunny limoncello) is just how it sounds – a combination of [...]
There’s something about being in the south that makes it impossible not to love lemon desserts. Whether it’s your grandmother’s lemon chess squares or homemade lemonade, there’s no shortage of reasons to pucker up! One of my favorites is this Southern Lemon Pie. It’s rich in fresh lemon flavor and topped with a dusting of powdered sugar for the prettiest pie to serve to family and friends. Garnishes truly make the dessert because we eat with our eyes first. So I like to use thin slices of lemon on each slice with a sprig of mint for a touch of green. Finish with a dusting of powdered sugar. This pie can often have cracked tops (similar to a chess pie) so the powder helps give it a [...]
