Fort Custer Army National Guard Base encompasses a major portion of the city's land area and is home to an industrial park that houses over 90 different companies. Along with the industrial complex, the base also contains a large wooded area that is great for outdoor activities like hiking and biking. There is a vibrant business district that will keep everybody entertained with shops, restaurants and bars. The Battle Creek Linear Park is a unique pathway that winds its way around the city. This trail combines both the undeveloped wooded areas with the more urban parts of the city and perfectly meshes each part of the town.
