Opportunities for family recreation abound in Bellevue. Over 600 acres of parkland offer trails, playgrounds, sporting fields and more. The many miles of paved trails are great for a family bike ride, or an evening stroll. College Heights Park and Everett Park, among others, are popular for little league sporting events. Gilbert park offers both a swimming and wading pool, along with a playground, picnic area and basketball courts. Offutt Air Force Base, which is greatly responsible for the growth of the area, occupies a large space within the city limits and employs many residents.

At the confluence of the Platte and Missourri Rivers, just southeast of Omaha, lies the suburban community of Bellevue, Nebraska.
