With quaint and quiet neighborhoods and a bustling town center, and with history around every corner, Canton offers something for everyone. Children and adults alike enjoy the Canton Corner Historic District that includes more than 25 properties over 170 acres in the downtown area. Paul Revere built the nation's first Copper Rolling Mill in Canton in 1800, and even wrote a charming poem about the town, "Canton Dale." But Canton is also very much of the present day; both Reebok and Dunkin' Donuts are headquartered here and it's just a short 15-mile trip to Boston, one of the world's most vibrant and modern cities.

Recreation opportunities abound in Canton, with its very own Blue Hills Ski Area offering great skiing in the winter and plentiful hiking the rest of the year. The town is also the home of the Museum of American Bird Art, part of the Mass Audubon Society, which offers visitors of all ages an experience that has been rated one of the Top Things To Do by TripAdvisor. Canton also has some great restaurants, lovely parks for walking and bird-watching and a very appealing ambiance. Yet Canton is one of the most affordable towns near Boston. It's a good place for young families (a third of the families in town have children under the age of 18 and there are three elementary schools), for seniors, and for anyone who wants to get good value for their housing dollar. With a population just over 20,000, the town has many community services, but all within a small-town atmosphere.
