Clearwater is the smallest of the three main cities in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater metro area, with a population of approximately 108,000. The city itself is separated from Clearwater Beach by the Intracoastal Waterway. Beautiful beaches, amazing landscape and plenty of activities on land or at sea give citizens and visitors alike plenty to do. Major roadways like the Gulf to Bay Boulevard, which acts as the east-west backbone of the city, and public transportation (which includes a beach trolley that runs 25 miles along the chain of barrier islands) make it easy to get around the city and all of its attractions. Two major airports (Tampa International Airport and St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport) make an easy destination to reach from anywhere.
