Though Cumming, Georgia, is a relatively quiet place, there is plenty of entertainment to be found in the area. Lake Lanier offers residents of this city the opportunity to spend their weekends on the water boating, fishing, swimming, or whatever else they might wish to do. Camping is easy with the dozens of campsites located about the western coast of the body of water. Cumming also hosts a 4th of July Parade every year, which includes food, music, fireworks, and fun for the whole family. The city also hosts other annual events at its fairgrounds, which include the Cumming Fair, a rodeo, and the Taste of Forsyth event, where locals present some of their favorite foods to guests along with a background of shops and live music.

Tucked into the serene, rolling hills of the surrounding countryside, Cumming, Georgia, covers the 6.9 miles to the west of Lake Lanier, Georgia's largest and most famous water feature. This city is by and large a quiet and relaxed place, perfect for raising a family. Homes here range from single-family homes, townhouses and apartments, to lake houses and homes with as many as six bedrooms. There are also condos for those who wish to visit the area on a more temporary basis to enjoy the nearby lake.
