Garner, North Carolina is a small community of 28,000 people and is located about eight miles south of Raleigh, the state's capital. Although Garner is a suburb of the city, it has kept its hometown atmosphere. The nine neighborhoods are safe and are primarily made up of affordable and traditional medium to large-sized homes that were built anywhere from 1970 to 2000. The diverse community has something for everyone, with a thriving business economy, many acres of parkland, quality schools, shopping, entertainment venues, and great community events.
Garner is located in the high-tech Research Triangle, and it combines the best of the old and new. Because of this, Garner is home to leaders in industry, business, research and government. It offers convenient access to numerous universities, major transportation routes, and a premier metropolitan area, but it also has had time to plan for essential services and facilities as growth continues to steadily increase. Residents are minutes away from cutting-edge technology, education, and health care. First-class universities, such as University of North Carolina, N.C. State University, and Duke University, are very close by, and traveling to domestic and international destinations is easy thanks to transportation via Amtrak and the RDU International Airport.
