Jacksonville presents residents with a stable environment in which to live, with warm summers and only a few cold months during the winter. If you'd be coming to the city for employment, the list of top employers in the area is quite diverse. There are jobs in the local and national government with several thousand citizens in the employ of the City of Jacksonville, Onslow Country, the Marine Corps Camp Lejeune and the United States Department of Defense. Onslow County Schools and the Coastal Carolina Community College also offer positions in the education sector. Walmart, McDonald's and Lowe's make up a significant portion of private sector employment. For the younger citizens, Jacksonville has over 30 options for public grade schooling as well as higher education at the aforementioned Coastal Carolina Community College, Mount Olive College and Miller-Motte Technical College.

If you are looking to buy a home on the United States' east coast and are hoping to do so without breaking the bank, the city of Jacksonville in southeastern North Carolina might just be a place for you. At around 45 square miles in size and with a population just over 70,000, this isn't exactly a bustling metropolis.
