Little Rock is located on the Arkansas River, and two creeks run through the city. The beautiful Ouachita Mountains lay on the Western side of the city, which are part of the U.S. Interior Highlands. These mountains contain a national forest, hot springs, and Lake Ouachita. Hiking enthusiasts traverse the Ouachita National Recreation trail, which is impressively over 200 miles long. Little Rock has a humid subtropical climate. While residents experience hot and humid summers, Little Rock's winters are fairly mild, and it gets little snow. Aside from the Ouachita Mountains, Little Rock also has many other areas of interest. The city has a strong connection to arts and culture. It has an arboretum, a community theater, a repertoire theater, a symphony, and a music hall, as well as many other cultural centers. Forbes Travel Guide named Little Rock one of America's five secret foodie cities in 2014.
