The centerpiece of the pleasant town is the historic McDonough Square. A walking tour of the area is bound to turn up interesting history of the area. Or, try one of the themed Town Tours. The Henry County Courthouse in the square was built in 1897 in a Romanesque style by well-known architects. Residents enjoy shopping at one of the unique shops as they stroll. After meandering around town, people often head to one of the many charming and welcoming local restaurants including a delicious Italian restaurant and many others that offer southern style, Cajun/creole and tasty barbeque. Town events include the annual Geranium Festival and Christmas Extravaganza. Haunted History Tours and Ladies Night Out are monthly occurrences. The Atlanta Motor Speedway is located nearby, and the Miss Georgia USA pageant is hosted here. Another fun activity is the Southern Belle Farm, which offers the whole family a farm experience with berry picking, cow milking and animal petting, and it also hosts a fall corn maze and pumpkin patch.
