The home of West Virginia University, it draws big college football game day crowds, and offers added restaurants and shopping centers because so many visitors make a pilgrimage there each Saturday. The municipal airport is located in Suncrest, as is Ruby Memorial Hospital. The area is a mix of contemporary homes and shopping plazas lined with restaurants, gas stations and grocery stores. South Park is one of the city's original suburbs and is designated a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places. Morgantown High School is located in the neighborhood, as are several small local pubs and beer gardens. It is a short walk across Deckers Creek to downtown.
