Originally settled in 1831 by Joseph Naper, Naperville is known for it top-notch schools, low crime rate and well-educated residents, which all combine to make it a great place for families. Some of the most popular neighborhoods are River Road, Naper Blvd/Staunton Road, 75th St. /South Washington St., and Schillinger Drive/103rd St. More expensive areas of the city include Woodbrook Court/Bridlespur Drive, East Chicago Avenue/ South Julian St., Route 53/Royce Road, and Hobson Road/Indiana Avenue. In the older, eastern area of the city sits the Naperville Historic District. It consists of over 600 structures including homes and commercial buildings that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. North Central College, a small liberal arts school, is located in downtown Naperville. It's Wentz Concert Hall and Fine Arts Center attracts locals and visitors alike.

Located 35 miles west of Chicago is the lovely suburb of Naperville, Illinois. In 2006, Money magazine rated the city the second best place to live in the America. It was also named the wealthiest city in the Midwest with a population over 75,000 in a 2010 study.
