Downtown isn't the best place for families and the housing options are limited to high rises and apartment buildings. Hillsboro Village with many single-family homes has more housing choices and is much more family friendly than those areas close to downtown, but it is close enough to still be able to enjoy everything. Sylvan Park is like a whole different place. It offers a small town atmosphere where everyone knows everyone else and neighbors help neighbors. It is perfect for families. Belmont Blvd is near the Belmont University, so it is often the best choice for students.
