Located just 35 miles east of Los Angeles, Ontario, California is the fourth populous city in the State of California. The Ontario Model Colony was established in 1882 by George Chaffey and his two brothers, naming it after Ontario, Canada, their former home. The land was originally used for hunting and foraging by the Tongva Serrano Indians. It was later a prime area that attracted citrus farmers and Easterners who were seeking a drier climate for their health.

Ontario is the home of the LA/Ontario International Airport, the 15th busiest airport in the country by the cargo that is carried through it. Is also the former home of the Ontario Motor Speedway. It was set up as a dry town, as early deeds contained clauses that forbade the sale or manufacture of alcoholic beverages. The city was incorporated in 1891, with North Ontario breaking away in 1906. Ontario then continued to grow at a fast rate. From a population in the 1960s of 20,000, it grew 10 times more by 2007. It contains several top employers who employ thousands of workers, providing a great economic opportunity for those who choose to live there.
