Called "The Valley" by locals, Spokane Valley is a picturesque place. Imagine evening walks along the river or meandering along sandy paths while surrounded by the clean smell of towering pines. Whether you settle in a city neighborhood like Orchard Park or desire something further to the north or south, natural beauty is always close at hand. As is fairly common in waterfront communities, many of the neighborhoods in Spokane Valley contain working-class, middle-income, and upper-income residences. Orchard Park, for example, is considered a working-class neighborhood as measured by average per capita income, but it contains some beautiful waterfront homes as well. This is true for many of the city neighborhoods, particularly those bordering the river, such as Greenacres and Veradale. While much of the housing in Spokane Valley was built between 1970 and 1999, new developments continue to spring up throughout the area to meet the growing population demands.
