Native Americans originally inhabited the town now known as Spring. During the 1800s, the government placed the land under the Harrisburg municipality. Around this time, the area was home to about 150 residents. A few years later, German immigrants moved to the Spring. When they arrived, they began farming efforts, focusing on cotton and sugar cane. When the Great Northern Railroad opened in the town, Spring experienced substantial grow. The area became home to several railroad workers, cotton gins, and schools. Today, there are over 18,000 households in the area and lots of families. There is still a strong Native American presence. In addition, Spring is home to a lot of blacks. The citizens in the area love the diversity and community feel.
