Temecula lies in the southwest portion of Riverside County and boasts a population of over 100,000 residents. It's a newer city, only being incorporated in 1989, and it lies between Murrieta, CA and the spacious Pechanga Indian Reservation. Named after its original inhabitants, the Temecula Native Americans, it is also affectionately dubbed "the place of the sun," or "the sun that shines through the mist." Residents will attest to the local beauty in the area, and City Hall is styled after a Spanish Mission to honor the Spanish missionaries who ministered to the locals way back when.
