Hey you! Summer is officially over, and autumn is upon us. Welcome to October! Fun fact: did you know that the word "October" is derived from the Latin word for "eight?" That's because it used to be the eighth month of the Roman calendar. When they added January and February, they bumped October to #10, but the name stuck.
We don't know about you, but we're really excited about Halloween! It's a great time to visit all the homes in your neighborhood and to get to know your neighbors better. Have your costume figured out yet? We thought about going as real estate experts, but we decided that idea was a bit lazy. Maybe we'll go as robots or pirates instead.
Of course, Halloween's not the only thing going on this October - there's also the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah, Indigenous People's Day, and one of our personal favorites, National Cat Day. Oh, and our neighborhood pizza joint tells us October is also National Pizza Month. A hot slice of delicious pizza sounds like the perfect way to usher in those brisk, autumn nights.
And while the official home selling season may be over, October is a great time to find the perfect home. Need help? Glad you asked! We're Homes.com, and we promise not to jump out of the closet in a vampire mask while showing you around your next home. Seriously. That would be unprofessional.
