Immediately you encounter a powerfully tumbling creek that drops seemingly from the heavens and courses the entire path of the road as we climb to the summit. Roll down your windows and it converses with you and dominates the conversation. As the road in its trajectory traverses right and left you encounter the waterfalls and coursing current anew and each time you do you also encounter magnificent rockwork in the form of stone walls, bridge abutments, borders and appointments to the occasional home sites. Rock is one of our many overlooked natural wonders of the high country. When you see these cliffs and pinnacles rising fifty feet into the sky you simply stand back in gratitude and amazement and their striking beauty. So the trip up to these exquisite lots in The Laurels becomes an uncommon experience and a memorable one. What began as a trip to look at real estate becomes an unexpectedly moving encounter with nature and one mans endeavor to preserve and celebrate it. And with that comes simply a special feeling of comfort, ease and appreciation of a truly unique place on Earth. If you follow the directions below and drive up here I believe youll undergo this experience and recognize the special nature of this land.
