Villa Rockledge has been charmed since it first took shape on the high cliffs of Laguna Beach nearly a century ago. It has been in the same loving hands for over three decades and now, the chance to own this magnificent compound with a main house, six villa compound and its rare private beach has emerged. The incomparable Villa Rockledge was the vision of Frank A. Miller and Arthur Benton, developer and architect of Southern California s famous resort hotel the Mission Inn in Riverside. Built on a spectacular site Miller had purchased in 1887, the estate was created as a gift to his wife, Marion. (Its original name, Mariona, is carved above the entrance.) Its construction took four years, from late 1918 through 1922.
