I grew up in Hamburg, PA which is not far from Allentown and there are a lot of reasonable areas between there and Allentown. I would contact a lender to find out how much you are prequalified for and then contact an agent familiar with that area to direct to to homes within your budget that also are near amenities you desire or in school districts you may wish to consider. Happy home hunting!
Lehigh Valley it is not far from New York, some Cities like Easton, Forks Twp,Palmer and Bethlehem Twp are very close to the border with New Jersey. Rent to own is possible and it is a broad subject with different possiblities. We are not suppose to promote ourselves when answering questions here. I see that everybody did however, you should find a Realtor to help you. Information about schools and everything about neigborhoods is easy to be found. Try our website.
Happy New Year. I'd be available to assist you in the pre-approval process. As Craig pointed out, you will need to determin your budget for the new mortgage payment, including escrow for taxes/ insurance. I can be a resource for you to get an estimate of payment and what you qualify for. You can apply on my website or call me directly anytime. We charge no application fee.
I'd be Happy to help you. There are many area's in Allentown that would be perfect for a family with three children. First you'll need to get more specific with your questions. I'll assume from your question that you want to buy a home. What do you consider a reasonable price range? If you're purchasing are you going to pay cash, are you going to need money from a bank or do you want a lease to own option. You see there are so many possibilities we would have to speak to find the best course of action for you. Feel free to contact me. Have a wonderful day.
I can help you. The first thing you need to do is look at your budget and determine what monthly payment is affordable for you. Once we've determined the payment you need, we can determine what price range home you can afford taking into account the taxes and insurance, which can be included in your monthly mortgage payment. Then, from there, we can talk about your needs and the type of home you prefer. I can provide complete estimates of your closing costs and help guide you on ways to roll those closing costs into your mortgage. There are even some zero-down-payment options available but I'd have to discuss your situation with you.

If you want to live close to New York I would suggest the Easton, Forks, Palmer or Wilson area. They are only minutes to the New Jersey border on I78. Living in the Allentown market area will only add an additional 20 minutes driving time. All Lehigh Valley market areas are close to the NJ/NY border. When you search for a new home it is important that you first talk to a qualified lending professional that can guide you and advise you on your purchasing power. Once you know how much purchasing power you have it's easy to target where you want to live and what you can buy. A rent to own situation would still require confirmed and available financing. Good luck. I'm here if you need guidence.
