So far no luck on a short-term rental. Right now we're praying our current landlord can give us 30 more days in our loft so we can try and formulate a plan. In addition, Wells Fargo, a.k.a. RELS has run each of our credit numerous times, and I received an alert that my Experian score has dropped 30 points due to numerous new inquiries. Nightmare, indeed!
Jennifer what is the update on the short term rental? Do you have a lender yet? Hopefully you have a real agent by now helping you out.
There is still plenty of time to get your mortgage and to close on your home by March. Give me a call, and I can get your prequalification to you today. I work very closely with my clients throughout the process. My goal is to make this process and pleasant experience for you. I recently left a large mortgage company, and came to Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp., so that I can give my clients, you, the service you expect and deserve. Beth

Thanks for our advice everyone. I tried to give Wells Fargo the benefit of the doubt, and we met with an actual branch manager in the mortgage dept. He assured us he would take better care of everything, and we brought in about 200+ pieces of paper documentation for our application. That was Saturday, January 28th. We haven't heard from him since and we're back to not getting phone calls or emails returned. We are moving our joint checking and savings away from this bank as soon as possible and in the meantime searching for a short term rental until this mess is straightened out. Very disappointed.
But thank you for all of your insight!
Go to your own personal bank to meet in person with a mortgage rep, and get yourself pre approved.
Definitely find a lender who is interested in helping you. If you need a referral or 2 I can happily help you. I used to be a lender and losing a file is unacceptable.
Thanks, Kimberly
Hi Jennifer. I would find a different lender as soon as possible. This can be a stressful process and for whatever reason, the previous lender is just not taking care of things. I would find someone you are comfortable with and that responds quickly to your questions and needs. There's still time! Good luck!
Jennifer! Besides this dilemma how are you?
You need to get working on finding a home as well as getting qualified asap if you looking to be out by March. Getting pre-qualed from a good lender should not take that long. Contact me to see if we can get this process sped up for you.
I have a Broker I can refer. Please email me and I will write you back. Suggestion, work with organized people.
I am an agent in Southwest Florida and have recently done business with Wells Fargo. The experience is aweful. Your best step is to contact friends and family to see if they can direct you to a Real Estate Agent they trust. =) If not, call around and interview a couple.
If the agent is successful, they should be able to put you in contact with a local mortgage broker. I have found that it is much smoother to use a broker locally, then going through a major bank.
I used to live in Atlanta, Call Mike Wistrick if he is still in the area. You will be extremly happy you did. Tell hime I sent you. =) Good Luck!

Good morning Jennifer,
When purchasing a home, the key to a stress free experience is to work only with professionals with whom you feel safe and comfortable. My recommendation is to definitely speak with another lender, hopefully one who is referred to you by someone you trust. Lenders, as well as agents need to earn your business. I have worked with wonderful, professional lenders and ensure my clients are well cared for during every step of the home buying process.
Please feel free to contact me for a great lender referral. I would also love assist you in finding the perfect home if you are in need of a professional Buyer's Agent.

Give me a call. I can certainly help you with the process. Being 35 years in the business, I have great relationships with lenders that will guide you through the process AND NOT LOSE YOUR INFORMATION. I look forward to talking with you.
Hi Jennifer, Most professional agents have more than a few loan officers they have vetted as competent, responsive and competitive. You should consider highly your real estate professional's recommendation. While the client I recommend may mean only one transaction, where I recommend each of my loan officers to 50 to 60 clients dropping the ball is not the loss of just one loan applicant but 50-60, beleive me when I say they return my calls, jump through hoops to keep my business and my client's business. There are good and bad apples at every firm. In a recent transaction representing the seller the buyer had a Wells Fargo loan officer. Days before closing the things were not moving, a call to my loan rep for the regional VP's cell phone number got the buyers loan officer back to the task. More than a Internet chat you need a professional the get guide you through the process and surround you with a team that makes saves you time and money and makes this an enjoyable process.
