There are plenty of local publications that handle commercial real estate. You'll just have to find the appropriate one for your type of property. Otherwise, online listings like Homesdotcom and Craigslist are nice free ways to get exposure.

Well Deborah... the first step in that process would be to fully ask yourself this question... "Am I going to do this by myself... or am I going to hire a professional so that I don't have to drive myself crazy?" Keep in mind... I always applaud people who "do-it-themselves"... because it takes a LOT to perform all of the normal responsibilities of your life and then ADD ON the additional stress of pricing, marketing, negotiating and selling ANY property. As a matter of fact... I used to teach a seminar (which I am reprising THIS SPRING) called "LEARN HOW TO SELL YOUR HOME WITH... OR WITHOUT... A REALTOR". However... in your case... we're talking commercial property... so here's what I can offer you in this forum (a phone call or in-person meeting might be different)... If you are ready to take on the expenses of marketing... and prepared to KNOW YOUR VALUE IN REALITY (as opposed to THINKING you know)... then there is no shortage of print media for you to spend your money on. Websites like Loopnet are STRICTLY COMMERCIAL... but you will need to spend a bit of upfront money to become a member. My best advice... in order to maximize your profit and learning experience... and to also minimize your financial output and marketing time... HIRE A PROFESSIONAL COMMERCIAL REALTOR!! I am a residential REALTOR but I have also handled my share of commercial transactions. But many agents who work in the field on the residential side are, quite frankly, just not qualified for certain transactions. Much like an attorney who handles personal injury cases would NOT be the best attorney to represent you in a murder trial... not all agents are created equal. So when it comes to commercial real estate you need to choose wisely from the start of the process. Locally... I have a great friend named who not only created the commercial division for a large national brokerage (locally here in Rhode Island)... not only was he the President of the Commercial Board... but he also now owns and operates his own commercial real estate company. Check out my profile to find your way to me... and I will gladly refer you over so that you can avoid any risk by reaching him directly. However... if doing it yourself is what you are hellbent on doing... then maybe you can provide more specifics so that your unique circumstances can yield unique answers from me BEFORE you spend a single dime of your hard-earned money. Either way... BEST OF LUCK!! Have a great day!
