Cody I am looking in the Rogers, Bentonville, and Cave Springs area. My lease will be up the end of June.
There is not a set rule about this by people who own rentals (not necessarily rental agencies). Many times these owners have their own criteria. Rental agencies have to set more strict and more mainstream criteria to protect their clients. I can tell you that as a landlord with houses, the actual credit score does not mean as much to me as a one on one interview with you. How I feel about your job history, your credit history, your attitude about paying your rent , your work ethic, your general deameanor mean more to me than an actual number on the credit score. I have the experience to be able to tell from what kind of background you come, financially- what is the most important thing for you to pay and how you are are going to maintain my property. I hope this helps you know for what a landlord is looking. Try honesty, sincerity about your situation, your family, your prospects and willingness to be frank and above board with the landlord about both your needs and your ability to fulfil his expectations in a tenant.
You do not have to have credit. Your previous rental history, job history, and criminal background are generally checked to determine if you qualify.
I have three friends that work as property managers. They collectively manage about 700 homes. Where are you looking to rent?
