Brenda, the first step is getting pre-qualified for your home. This will tell you how much of a house you can buy, but also give you any head's up if there is anything on your credit that you aren't aware of. There are all sorts of programs out there. Getting that step taken care of will definitely put you ahead of the game. You should be able to qualify for around 3x your yearly salary. Good luck in your search and call me if I can be of any help. God Bless.

What part of Houston are you looking to purchase? You may want to consider a townhome which are not too expensive and some have a small yard. Make sure that you are pre-approved for a mortgage loan before looking at homes. Contact any agent on this site for more information.
