No one can force you to sell your house if you don't want to, or changed your mind. If you received an offer, just contact the buyer and let them know you changed your mind, and refund their earnest money (if the buyer paid). As long as both parties agree, it should be o.k. As long as you do not sign the offer and agree to the terms, you have no requirements to sell your home. Your agent should not hold any liability on you. If you have any issues and you don't want to sell, then contact an attorney. Good luck.

You are not required to sell your home just because you have received an offer. If you have signed the offer and executed the contract, then you need to consult a real estate attorney. There are no clauses for a home seller to break the contract, but there are for the buyer. It is possible that the buyer can sue you for specific performance (if the contract was already executed) meaning to force you to go through with the sale OR to apply whatever penalty the law in your state dictates for breaking the contract.
