My husband and I are moving to SF and looking for a house/apt to rent. Is there an agent who can help us?

We have no kids but two 4lb dogs. We would like to keep both of our vehicles - a truck and an suv if possible. My husband's work will be in San Bruno and my work will be in SF but we would like to stay in SF preferably. We are currently in Virginia and it's hard to look for a place when we are relying solely on what we find on the internet.

Hi Dear, You may have received an answer by now, however I wanted to give some insight that might be helpful. I was a San Franciscan for 30 yrs and well versed in city lifestyle. The 4lb dogs won't be as big an issue as the three vehicles. Parking comes at a premium, and most rentals if a condo, town home or tic will come with one assigned parking spot. You would most likely need to rent a home with a garage that also offered street parking. There are some good areas that I may guide you to. What would your monthly rental allowance be? Another thought is to rent in San Bruno. I worked there four years and that would offer you ample parking and a visit the city is only ten minutes away. Nice family style living. You could have the best of both worlds. But more importantly, it's the culture your seeking and which environment suits your lifestyle the best. The biggest consideration you will have for living in the city is squeezing in the three vehicles to an area of choice. In other words, fitting in the cars to the dream. Hope that helps! Hi J. As a consumer who purchased and sold a few properties for myself in San Francisco before I became an agent, I recommend Morthon Mah 415-860-5888. He has been a REALTOR in San Francisco for decades, is a wonderful guy, and is one of the inspirationns for my getting into real estate.

Greetings to you, Thank you for your inquiry here. My approach to renters differs little from that which I engage in with buyers. Toward that end I have an extensive checklist for you to use as an aid to identifying those parameters that matter most to you in your new home. If you wish to receive that please email me offline and I will send it your way. I'm sure it will be most helpful to you as well as to me when trying to find you suitable matches for a rental. Whatever you decide I wish you a smooth transition and hope to hear from you soon. . . Jonathan

Hi! Both the rental market and sale market is robust in SF with low inventory. The dogs won't be a problem if you buy but some rentals wont allow them. 2 car parking is not common though in many places you can either rent a space nearby or get a parking sticker. It really depends on budget and area you want to target. If you want to tell me your budget and any other parameters, I can better answer your question. As to rentals, almost everything that is on the market will be on Craigslist. Cheers, Mary
