How does Homes.com calculate the Monthly Property Tax

MLS R172355 states MPT 174.15 which would be 2089.80 yearly. Listing agent states yearly taxes of 7026.00. Confirmed this by contacting agent.

Sara, thank you for the question. Each listing has more than one property tax. Some properties have two, some three and even some with additional special limited taxes. You have school, town and county and village/city taxes. You also have special water district and sewer district taxes in various areas. If the listing agent says a specific number, they re speaking as they know the truth in taxes billed. When third party sites show listings, the tax numbers may not hav been accurately reflected from the original listing based on how the taxes were or were not broken down. You did the right thing by verifying the correct tax amount. Another item that may reflect what taxes are calculated, are tax assistance programs. Many municipalities still have STAR programs that allow tax relief for cetain residents that may not be available to all residents.
