Yes you can list your home as a FSBO. I suggest you do some research on the internet regarding the benefits of working with a good, experienced Realtor. Try these sites: National Association of Realtors and Real Estate Commission in the state you reside.

I agree with some of the previous answers. You can definitively list it on your own, but we're confident we would net you more if you hire a top performing team who put your home on every major website with much more exposure.

Of course the answer is yes, but I would wonder why you'd want to? Saving a few dollars on commission rarely outweighs the confidence that your Realtor will bring to the transaction.

This is always an option for the seller. In our market, this is not the best option. Most FSBO homes are sold by agents and listing with them will cost more but actually save you time so it may be even when the carrying costs are considered.

Listing your home as a FSBO is always an option; however it may not be the best option. When you understand what a good Real Estate Broker does on your behalf; you may not consider it to be an option at all. Granted, like any other profession some Brokers are better than others and that is simply a fact; however a competent Broker will assist you with the pricing of your home in order to make sure it is listed at a price that is reflective of your market area. You may have a great home in a good location, but if you have it priced too high it could easily just sit there and become stigmatized. The other side of the coin is that you could “possibly” price it under the market value and leave money on the table. A competent Realtor has the knowledge to price your home correctly, and the means and avenues to reach many more qualified Buyers than most FSBOs are capable of reaching. They work on your behalf to obtain the best possible price for your home. They advertize and show your property, and work with the Buyers or Buyer’s agents, Attorneys, Paralegals, Surveyors, Loan officers, Home inspectors, Repair contractors, etc. to complete the sale of your home. I can assure you a good Broker will earn every dollar they make from the commission you pay them at closing. Also in the event your house doesn’t sell, most don’t charge you anything; although they have spent a great deal of time and money in an effort to do so. My advice would be to inquire of family, friends, neighbors and others who have used the services of Real Estate Broker and been pleased with results of same, as to who they would recommend. There is a great deal more to selling a home than many realize until they attempt to do so on their own. Whether you decide to sell yourself or enlist the services of a Realtor; I wish you the very best.

You can list your home for sale by Owner, however, as Tim mentioned it will sell faster with an agent. Also, if you sell your home by owner you still by law must give the buyer a disclosure form stating the condition of the home and let them know in writing if there is anything you no about is wrong with the home. I can email you this form if you'd like. Good Luck Denise Phillips Century 21 American Prop.

Not sure exactly what the question means. As an owner, doing a FSBO is always an option. Of course statistics have show that homes listed with a Realtor sell for more and typically in a shorter time frame. It also allows the seller access to an agent's market knowledge. Of course, what else would you expect a Realtor to say, but it is the truth. You typically cannot place your home in an Multiple Listing Service (MLS) as a FSBO. There are some companies that will place your home in the MLS for either a flat fee or reduced commission. Again, that is primarily all they do, leaving the seller to deal with other issues such as screening potential buyers, additional market exposure and coordinating showings. Hope this helps.
