In texas we have owner financing just similar to rent to own, however, buyer has to have a substantial amount for a downpayment. You may find a rent to own properties handled by owners. In this case you need to seek the advice from your attorney.

Yes, you can contact a local real estate agent to receive a list of rent to own homes in the area of your interest or craigslist provide a real estate section with rent to own homes.
