No, of course I don't hate the messenger. I also do not have anything against realtors. I have listed 2 of my last 3 houses with realtors but when the listing expires I lower the price by the commission amount and put it up as FSBO and they happen to sell each time. I also like the online sites but the ones that don't allow Owners to have access is wrong especially when they have erroneous information. Seems like there should be some recourse and maybe there is... I just found it easier to vent in the forum! :)

Yes it is a pain with incorrect information. Don't hate the messenger though. This is not my site! Have you considered an agent to help sell your home? They have access to entering correct information on sites like these, but can only do so with a listing agreement between the you the seller and the agent's brokerage. There are also lots of studies out there that show Realtor's get more for sellers (in regards to equity) even with the commissions they charge. If you still want to go at it on your own I am happy to share some tips to help get your home sold.

Well good try but the picture they show for my house is wrong as well. They are missing a 4th bedroom and a pool. So wrong picture, wrong # bedrooms and lack of pool. I don't think my fraustration is unwarranted. Thanks for keeping the optimism though, I do appreciate that.

What is the point of this website if the information is not accurate. It's not just square footage for me, it's the 4th bedroom they refuse to acknowledge, it's the pool and the picture of the house they show "is not" my house. You have to admit that's pretty bad. People looking for a 4 bedroom home or a home with a pool won't even contact me because they don't think my home fits that criteria. It's not right and what is more bothersome is these sites are impossible to correct. Thanks for the optimism though I do appreciate.

I understand that Michele, but honestly if the home looks good in the pictures to the potential buyer and it is priced correctly no one is going to care about the missing 71 sqft (in the case of Jack's home)not listed on sites like these. Like I said before this information is auto populated form various sources. I can understand the frustration though when you are trying to sell by owner. That is one of the drawbacks of FSBO. You don't have much control over what is out there in the internet. However I don't know if Jack is trying to sell by owner or not which is why I asked, "Why do you care?"

I have same problem and my house is for sale by owner yet all the sites have wrong information. Why do we care?? Because believe it or not, right or wrong, buyers use this information. (to answer Darrell Hess)

Why do you care if you don't mind me asking? Most information on homes is auto-populated through various sources.
