Hi Melinda, You cannot simply assume a home that is in foreclosure. My advice would be to contact the attorney that is handing the foreclosure and see if they have any means to assist you in acquiring the property.

When the property is in foreclosure, it is not possible to assume the loan. You can possibley be approved for maximum financing if this is going to be your primary residence.
