I am looking to rent a semi new (2000 or newer) single family home in the Falls Church or Great Falls area. Fenced yard a plus, and attached apart.

what is the attached apart. for? Do you have pets? What price range are you limited to? What length of time? I'll be back from vacation on Sunday. Thanks Linda.

Contact a local Realtor and have them set up a search for you.

I don't have any properties in mind currently, but a homeowner would likely not even know that their home will be available for a May/June move in until March/April. Please feel free to contact us directly by clicking on the contact me link above and we can discuss this further, set up a timeline with realistic expectations and I can get a better sense of your exact situation and criteria.

The latter portion of your email is what I am looking for. We rent an apartment now in Crystal City. Lease up in May. Need something lined up by then. Have anything you can email to me?

Michele, It looks like your looking for a house with an attached apartment. I know of several that have been either sold or rented over the last year. Where the issue lies, is that owners usually rent them separately, to maximize their income. Your best bet is to be looking for lower level or separate apartments in single family homes, and then find out if there is a possibility of the main portion of the house being up for rent as well. Or you can search for homes with in-law or au pair suites. Sometimes those are are configured in a way that might meet what you are looking for.
