Arlington is the seventh most populous city in Texas and the fiftieth most populous city in the United States. East of Fort Worth and South of Dallas, it is home to the University of Texas at Arlington. The new homes being developed in the area are mostly medium to larger sized homes. The next biggest employers are both in education. Number two is the Arlington Independent School District, while number three is University of Texas at Arlington. The local Six Flags amusement park also employs a lot of people. As Arlington is home to a General Motors Assembly Plant, a large portion of the population are also employed as assembly workers.
