In honor of Earth Day we’d like to post a few ways to help you “going green” in your home. Going green not only helps the environment, but also make your wallet greener too!

Check that the refrigerator is operating at the right temperature

  • Fridge 37 – 40 F
  • Freezer 0 – 5 F

Clean your air filters

  • Save up to 5% of your heating/cooling costs!

Use the dishwasher; uses less water than hand washing.

  • Save up to $40

Test toilet for leaks

  • Use food coloring in the tank; if it leaks into the bowl, you have a leak.
  • Save thousands of gallons of water!

Love the water saving ideas. Out here in the desert, water is a valuable asset. Many scientist say we are abusing available water and are headed toa shortage in the near future.
