Home for the Holidays – Washington DC Edition
As #4 of top 10 best cities to celebrate the holiday, Washington DC is on the “nice” list for bringing holiday cheer to all, with events such as the lighting of the National Menorah, displays of the White House’s National Christmas Tree and US Capitol’s Capitol Christmas Tree. So come home for the holidays in Washington, DC.
If you’re looking for a fun family event, ICE! at Gaylord National is only 15 minutes away (2012’s theme is Shrek). This event will bring a smile to your family’s faces when they walk through an animated world brought to life out of two million pounds of carved ice. I recommend a cup of hot cocoa afterwards with a bag of toasty cinnamon sugar covered nuts – yum!
How would you decorate this foyer for the holidays?
An open foyer is a wonderful greeting area for your visiting guests to put down luggage and start moving around the room for hugs, kisses, and handshakes.
The outdoors is just as lovely as it is indoors. The kids might like to make snow angels and build snowmen here.
Doesn’t this look like it came out of the Better Homes & Gardens magazine?
By adding a tree, mantel decorations, tablescape and centerpiece – this room could be the ultimate holiday party reception area.
Can you smell the chestnuts roasting on the open fire?
Wow, what a picture perfect kitchen – bright lighting, open layout, and spotless! The wide refrigerator would have more than enough space to keep leftovers from the celebration feast in our memory for days to come (if there is any food left).
