Best Winter Wonderlands Across the Country
Winter is here and many of us at Homes.com are still trying to adjust to the brutally cold weather coming in from the north. Despite the weather, we all love a good winter activity! Whether it’s building a snowman or warming up with a hot beverage, winter is a great time to enjoy all that the season has to offer!
We’ve compiled a list of the best winter wonderlands across the country that the whole family can enjoy.
This event, produced by the International Culture Exchange Group offers top-of-the-line fun for attendees of all ages. Not only does this wonderland have a Circus of Lights, it also features rides like carousels, international food vendors, arts and crafts, and a holiday market. The festival runs from mid-November to the beginning of January.
This extraordinary carnival is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. If you’re lucky enough to get to Whitefish for this event, you’ll be able to enjoy a grand parade as well as smaller ski parades, a queen and king coronation, a disco party, a pie social, and much more. This event is more than just a carnival; it’s a tradition for the residents of Whitefish!
Another tradition, the Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival will be celebrating 150 years in February. The carnival was started by a local sports club that wanted to help Steamboat Springs residents beat cabin fever and we’re sure it was a warm welcome (the average low temperature is six degrees in February, yikes!) From February 7th through the 11th, guests can enjoy street events, a night show extravaganza, and a “donkey jump.”
This carnival has been going strong since 1886 and it’s no wonder St. Paul residents love it so much! With events like a cat show, winter runs, a royal coronation, and more, you’ll never get bored at this marvelous winter wonderland. This event is held from January 25th through February 10th.
This carnival held from February 2nd through the 11th and is a winter spectacular the whole family can enjoy! Since 1897, this Saranac Lake staple has made everyone a kid at Christmastime (cue Stevie Wonder)! From downhill ski races, fry pan toss competitions for children, a royal coronation and dinner, as well as snowshoe races, you’ll never want to leave New York this winter.
