For a city settled in the middle of the 19th century, Bountiful, Utah has put a great deal of effort into entering the modern age. With renovations in the downtown area, a beautiful new temple, and a variety of modern houses available, admirers of the modern will feel right at home. You'll find anything from quirky homes built in the '70s with efforts made to predict modern styles, which gives them great character, to new developments with exquisitely planned facades and landscaping.
This quiet bedroom community is only 18 minutes from Salt Lake City, making it a great peaceful spot with big city amenities nearby. Bountiful and Salt Lake City were also the first two settled communities in Utah. This city was incorporated at the turn of the century and named for a lush place near a beautiful coast found in the Book of Mormon. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has made a beautiful impact on the community in the forms of the Bountiful Utah Tabernacle and Temple, built in 1862 and 1995, respectively. The Temple is capped with a soft light which strikes an inspiring scene at nightfall.
In the small community of Bountiful, there are many shops and activities to while away your days. There's Lost and Found Thrift, an antique resale shop with more collectibles, toys and memorabilia than you'd know what to do with. The South Davis Recreation Center schedules community events, and fitness and aquatic classes all year. For outdoor cycling, there's the Mueller Park Trail with two main paths: seven miles for the beginner and 13 miles for those with a little more stamina. And every summer there are the unique Bountiful Handcart Days, a community event including a parade, fireworks and special tours. A lovely mix of the classic and modern, Bountiful is waiting for you to call it home.
