Brentwood, Tennessee has earned a reputation for its rich and famous residents. Indeed, many of the music industry’s elite call Brentwood home, and the city’s luxurious homes certainly reflect this. If you seek posh housing and grand facades, you will find that here, but you will also find a few more modest neighborhood areas that are home to developments of single-family residences and condominiums.
With Music City itself, Nashville, barely ten miles north, it only makes sense that the industry’s influence would bleed to the suburbs. The city’s parameters border Williamson and Davidson county, but some areas outside the city limits are still commonly considered part of the Brentwood community. Neighborhoods in and around Brentwood include Green Hills, Belle Meade and Crieve Hall. These areas include several housing developments established throughout the past few years, and you will find, like the homes in Brentwood, that many of the local amenities evidence the affluence of the city’s residents. Upscale shopping and dining are commonly found next to recording studios or music business headquarters buildings.
The music industry, in general, employs many of Brentwood’s residents. In addition to the stars who live in the area, many business executives and musicians live and work in the city limits. Music companies such as Provident, Brentwood Records and divisions of EMI and Sony BMG all have headquarters in the city. Other companies like Community Health Systems, Inc. and Williamson Medical Center also employ thousands and make the healthcare industry another one of Brentwood’s top fields. These jobs are a significant part of the private sector, but the public sector also employs many of the city’s residents. There are fourteen elementary, middle and high schools-two of which are private-that employ teachers and other staff members. These opportunities paired with a high quality of living, great schools and scenic neighborhoods are all part of Brentwood’s undeniable charm.
