Nearby Homes

An hour northwest of Washington D.C. lies the quickly expanding community of Clarksburg, Maryland. New construction projects of all shapes and sizes are ongoing in all areas of town, and many townhome communities are being erected. Neighborhoods of beautiful colonial homes, with white picket fences and tree-lined streets can be found throughout the community. On the outskirts of town, older residences with large acreage are available and offer beautiful scenery.

The building boom of the early 2000s brought quick development to the area, with over 13,000 residents now calling the area home according to the 2010 census. Homes, neighborhoods and communities have sprung up at a quick pace, though careful planning was put in places decades prior. In 2011, the Montgomery County Planning Department amended the master plan to encourage grocery stores and other retail establishments to take up shop here, and many have, resulting in a nice selection of coffee shops, restaurants and two local grocery establishments. One of the main draws for the area is the well-designed transportation system. The whole community was planned to limit the need for vehicular travel, and there are numerous options for public transportation both in and around the area.

Another benefit of the in-depth planning of the area is a vast amount of useable open space. A greenspace corridor has been preserved along Ten Mile Creek and Little Seneca Creek and in surrounding valleys. The Little Bennett Regional Park is undeveloped and encompasses 3700 acres inside the city. There are over 20 trails for hiking and nature walks and the views are superb. Many historical sites, a campground and a golf course can all be found within the park. The annual Little Bennett Great Outdoors Festival is held during the summer months and offers, food, music, games, outdoor activities and more. A wonderfully modern, well-planned, yet safe and beautiful community greets anyone who chooses to call Clarksburg home.
