Although the majority of residents are not professional athletes, many do participate in the recreation programs. There are opportunities for organized adult sports and various recreational facilities where people can exercise. El Cajon also has specialized recreation for the senior citizens in the area. In addition, there are numerous parks and playgrounds for children to use. In many instances, these parks are used for sporting activities such as soccer, basketball, and baseball. The recreation of the town enhances the community feel of the area and makes El Cajon a great destination for homeowners. With the appealing home prices, it is not surprising that this area is preferred by so many.
