Langhorne is the home of Sesame Place, an amusement park geared toward young children, which opened in 1980. The rides and atmosphere is based on the Sesame Street television show. Children will be able to see their favorite television characters come to life. The Count, Elmo and Big Bird are just some of the characters who can be seen walking the park's grounds. Through the years, the park has expanded from a three-acre park to a 14-acre amusement extravaganza, featuring a wide-assortment of rides including water rides. One popular ride is Grover's Vapor Trail, a roller coaster created for children as young as three. The park is open from May through December, and there are special events and rides for Halloween and the holiday season.
