Schaumburg, Illinois, is a city in Cook County, located in northeastern Illinois. A northwestern suburb of Chicago, the city has a population of closely 74,000 and is close to O'Hare International Airport. It has a total area of 19 square miles. Known as a village, Schaumburg has both single family residences and condominiums. Over time, it has evolved from rural community to suburban metropolis, starting from having the first large scale suburban development and one of the largest shopping malls in the United States.
