If you enjoy fishing or walking trails, South Jordan will be a special find for you. The Jordan River runs right through the middle of the valley. The city has dedicated over three miles for trails, fishing ponds, natural habitat areas and parks. It was settled by Mormon settlers in 1859 on the banks of the river. Now, two beautiful LDS temples adorn the city, and many other religions are represented, as well. Mass transit has expanded in recent years by providing a stop by the FrontRunner commuter rail system and two stops for the TRAX light rail. For modest prices, the FrontRunner offers riders the ability to go south down to the Provo area and north through Salt Lake City and up as far as North Ogden.
